Orphans in Mogadishu
Mogadishu is one of the cities hardest hit during the two-decade civil war in Somalia. As a result, it is home to thousands of IDPs (Internally Displaced People), orphans and the poor. They need feeding program, adequate sheltering facility, health care and educational support. HICDA supports two orphanages in Mogadishu.
Imamu Nabawi Welfare Society (first orphanage centre sponsored by HIMILO in Mogadishu) opened on November 13, 2008 and currently houses 180 orphans (of which 50 are sponsored by HICDA and HCI). The remaining (130) orphans do not have regular sponsors. The children attend an on-site school.

We seek and encourage benefactors to donate $30/month that can save and educate a child.

- A classroom block
- Kitchen and washrooms
- Electric generators
- A well
