Orphanages
Current orphanage centers in Somalia sponsored by Himilo International Civic Development Agency are the following:

HICDA made a timely decision of intervening:
1. The civil war resulted in large number of orphaned children
2. Many parents were injured in the civil war which made it hard for them to feed their children
3. The ongoing draught in Somalia has led to the loss of livestock which has resulted in the deaths of many parents or the parent’s incapability to feed their children
4. Displaced families have lost their incomes and homes which have resulted in the deaths of some parents. This has lead to an increase of orphans
HICDA made a decision to team up and cooperate with Imamu Nabawi humanitarian organization that operates in the Benadir and the Central Regions of Somalia. In conjunction with Imamu Nabawi, we collect displaced and stranded orphans by providing:
• Shelters where is appropriate
• Feeding orphans
• Providing stationary and education materials
• Provide advocacy and fundraising for the orphanage
What we want to do for Imaamu Nabawi Orphanage:
1. To support teachers and technical training programs
2. To help and foster childhood education
3. To locate child benefactors, or providers
4. To link orphanage centers in Somalia with potential humanitarian organization
5. To check current orphanage centers once a year and assessing needs and accomplishment.
